Tour boho Malibu beach house of Danny DeVito & Rhea Perlman

I usually don’t get too excited over celebrity home tours, but the boho beach house of Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman in North Malibu is a different décor story altogether.

In fact, I think this boho modern chic renovation and revamp by Genevieve Carter of Carter Design would be just the ticket for me to bid Indiana winters good-bye and become an all-stops-out California girl.

That is, if I win the lottery. Fat chance, huh? Anyway, enjoy!!

The living room is the most-used room in the house, and given its beauty AND functionality, I can see why. Those unusual side tables are a custom design.

Artwork by the couple's daughter, Gracie Kehoe, defines the dining room. I'm sure we all recognize Danny and Rhea as fork and spoon!

The gorgeous kitchen has a great site line into the family den. The beams visible here and through much of the first floor are original to the house and dictated many of the decor details.

Here's that family room. I love the color explosion in the differently striped pillows. And that bleached-wood coffee table almost disappears into the bleached-oak floor. Almost, but not quite. Its farm-table legs stand in contrast to the clean, modern lines in the rest of the room.

Such a restful master bedroom! When I'm not wanting to crawl under that gorgeous hyacinth-hued blanket across the foot of the bed, I'm drooling over the vintage Turkish rug, circa 1930s.

This seating nook is part of the master suite and seems to be calling my name. You hear it too, right? It's interesting how the  staircase is visible from this room.

Speaking of those stairs, going up? They're bleached white oak, by the way. To me they seem like an expanse of white sand.

This is such a simple and restful guest room! I love everything: from the Indian block-printed coverlet and the elephant bolster pillow to the Moroccan side table, pink Roman shade and distressed blue chest.
